Specials are photo assignments to capture images that illustrate a specific theme or subject. It is the test of the photographer to demonstrate versatility with the medium.  And to explore subjects or techniques that may not be in the photographer's usual repertoire of images.
  
The Special's theme ideas are suggested by club members ... discussed pro and con ... and then voted on at olcc's second Friday meeting in January.

The photos submitted for competition in the following club year must be captured from the time of that January meeting up to when the photos are submitted in the Special's dpi categories.

Note: Specials are inclusive to club competition. For Best-of-Year Awards, Specials compete in the general category.
